Traditionally they are used as ponds, filled with water, plants like lotus flowers and even fish. In the world of Bonsai, Mizubachi are an authentic way to store water that is used for watering the trees.
Next to filling the Mizubachi with water, it can also serve as a beautiful flower pot.
This Mizubachi features rich decorations of life, in the form of various animals and plants. This is where the name Ikimono (生き物) originated from, it being the Japanese word for living things.
