Yebisu is one of the Seven Lucky Gods, in Japan known as Shichi Fukujin (七福神). He is characterized by his friendly appearance, high cap, and a fish under his arm. Yebisu is very well known and loved throughout Japan, and is also the symbol of a prominent beer brand which was named after him as well. It is believed that having a statue like this in the house or garden will have a positive effect on the future.
