There is a wide range of depictions that are the subject of these traditional scrolls such as landscapes, holy imagery, animals, and texts in calligraphy style.
The text on this scroll reads Kigu Shinjin Taishofu (奇遇神人大笑風). This can be translated as: When a sage encounters the extraordinary, great laughter arises like the wind.
