Kaeru, Japanese Ceramic Frog
Item description - YO23010059
This vintage frog ornament was imported straight from Japan. In Japanese culture, the frog is seen as a lucky animal because of the Japanese word. Frog is Kaeru (蛙) in Japanese, which has the same pronunciation as the verb to return (帰る). Returning of people and objects is a sign of good fortune, making the frog a lucky animal in Japan. With this in mind, people believe that having a frog ornament on display in the Japanese garden will result in good things happening in the future of the owner of the garden.
