The authentic Japanese garden of a modern home in Amsterdam
Our team built this premium Japanese garden located at the side of a modern home in Amsterdam. The main feature of the rather narrow landscape is the lively island in the sea of black pebble stones. The coast of the island is symbolized with carefully selected ornamental rocks, with subtle plants planted in between some of them. The island features many marvelous pieces of greenery such as Satsuki azaleas and most notably a cloud pruned Japanese juniper. Next to this, a beautiful Kasuga Gata Ishidōrō stone lantern was placed, being a real eye-catcher of the composition. A great view of the island can be enjoyed from a small wooden veranda built in the corner of the garden.

Additionally, a Nobedan path was created to walk through the garden and along the island. This way the island can be viewed from a great variety of perspectives. The path consists of both antique millstones and new silver-grey granite pieces, combining the traditional with the modern.
