A Highly Authentic Display of Traditional Japanese Gardens and Architecture
Yokoso Japanese Gardens participated in The Masters of LXRY 2019 trade show, showcasing a beautiful show garden at the RAI Amsterdam. The specific type of garden that we chose to build is called a Karesansui or dry rock garden. While no real water is used in this type of garden, waves are often raked into the gravel, symbolizing the ocean. In just a few days, the garden was constructed and featured many unique elements of the traditional Japanese garden, including various antique stone lanterns, a Tsukubai arrangement, a Kutsunugi-ishi stone, a gracefully arched stone bridge, stepping stones, accent grasses, Japanese ornamental rocks, and traditional Japanese garden trees.

Upon entering the garden, visitors are greeted by a beautiful authentic wooden gate, carefully handcrafted by our Yokoso woodworkers using traditional Japanese techniques such as woodwork joints. After passing through the gate, the stepping stone path splits into multiple paths. One path guides the visitor to the Tsukubai arrangement, another leads to the traditional handcrafted Chashitsu teahouse where visitors can sit down and enjoy the view. The third path takes visitors to the other end of the garden.
