Japanese Garden Tsuboniwa Sneek

Japanese Garden Tsuboniwa Sneek
For a client in Sneek, the Netherlands Yokoso Japanese Gardens was assigned to the task of designing a Tsuboniwa, which is Japanese for courtyard garden. First, the Yokoso Japanese Gardens Crew visited the location to get an idea of the area, the space, the light and the dimensions of the garden. We also took pictures of the site to use as a reference during the designing process.
During our visit, we talked to the client about his wishes and preferences, a very important part in the development of a personal Japanese garden. We showed the client various pictures of existing Japanese gardens and asked to pick the ones that best suited the desires. After this we also asked to pick the pictures that least suited his desires. This information formed the foundation of the design of the Tsuboniwa. The general idea was to create a Tsuboniwa enclosed by an Engawa, a Japanese covered veranda. With all this being said, we started to design the Tsuboniwa in a 3D environment. The completed design can be observed in the pictures above.
