Japanese Roji Garden and Tea House - Landscaping (2025)

An amazing balance between landscape and architecture in a Japanese Roji Tea Garden
A harmonious balance between the landscape and architecture is something we always strive to achieve, so it is with great pride that we present this Japanese garden project where all our expertises come together in the most beautiful way imaginable. The garden takes great inspiration from the Roji tea gardens that you can found all over Japan, with a traditional tea house as its centerpiece. The veranda we built along the home provides a prime view of the beautiful serene landscape of ornamental rocks and green islands featuring beautiful trees and plants in a sea of gravel.
Authentic stepping stones lead the way towards the tea house and passes the Tsukubai arrangement along the way, an essential feature of a true Roji garden dating back many centuries. The purpose of this traditional water basin and its surrounding set elements is deeply symbolic and practical, as guests use it to purify their hands and mouths before participating in the tea ceremony, symbolizing the cleansing of the body and mind to enter a space of respect and tranquillity.
