Kiriotoshi - Japanese Roof Tile
Item description
When thinking of traditional Japanese architecture, the first thing that comes to mind is the elegantly curved roofs constructed with metal grey roof tiles. Kawara (瓦) refers to a clay roof tile. Traditional roofs made of Kawara tiles are called Karawabuki (瓦葺き) or Iraka (甍).
Yokoso Japanese Gardens professionally designs and constructs Japanese-style wooden buildings, gates, and other traditional constructions. Original Japanese Kawara roof tiles have always been a popular option to take the authenticity level of the construction to even greater heights.
Because we receive a lot of requests for Japanese roof tiles we decided to offer them as a separate product. For your convenience, we have listed all the different types in our catalog. Calculating all the different parts for a roof can be quite difficult, so please feel free to contact us if you need any help. Note, Kawara roof tiles can be ordered, starting at a minimum of 10 m2.
This particular type of Kawara roof tile is called Kiriotoshi. They are called field roof tiles, which form the base of the roof.
