Japanese Milling Installation Support
Traditional very decorative Japanese hinge support from an antique milling installation. The granite hinge support sits half fixed in the ground. The support functions as a hinge for the solid lever with a hammer fixed at the end.
This hammer grinds the raw materials in the granite bowl under the hammer. We suspect that the miller operated the lever with the feet holding onto the beam above the pivot point.
